This course equips marine practitioners in the Coral Triangle with essential frameworks for evaluating and improving area-based management. From foundational concepts — what Marine Managed Areas are and why they matter — to practical tools for assessing management effectiveness, participants explore real-world examples, key success factors, and adaptive management approaches. Aligned with CTI-CFF RPOA 2.0, the course recognizes that effectiveness is shaped not only by biological outcomes but by governance strength, local context, and the quality of human engagement.

Introduces Community-Based Coastal Resources Management (CBCRM), an approach that empowers coastal and indigenous communities in managing coastal resources sustainably. Designed for practitioners, facilitators, local government officers, and field staff, the course provides foundational concepts and practical tools informed by experiences across the Coral Triangle region.
