This course equips marine practitioners in the Coral Triangle with essential frameworks for evaluating and improving area-based management. From foundational concepts — what Marine Managed Areas are and why they matter — to practical tools for assessing management effectiveness, participants explore real-world examples, key success factors, and adaptive management approaches. Aligned with CTI-CFF RPOA 2.0, the course recognizes that effectiveness is shaped not only by biological outcomes but by governance strength, local context, and the quality of human engagement.
Introduces Community-Based Coastal Resources Management (CBCRM), an approach that empowers coastal and indigenous communities in managing coastal resources sustainably.
